Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has called on leaders and residents of the Nyanza region to support President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027, citing ongoing development projects and improved cooperation between the region and the national government.
Speaking during an empowerment event in Suba, Homa Bay County, Omollo said the President had delivered tangible development gains locally and across the country, arguing that the progress justified granting him a second term.
“President Ruto has delivered for the people of Homa Bay and the region at large. We will give him another opportunity to continue on this path of development,” he said.
Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi echoed the remarks, expressing confidence that the Nyanza region would vote overwhelmingly for Ruto in the next General Election.
Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang attributed recent infrastructure improvements to the region’s cooperation with the national administration under what leaders described as a broad-based working arrangement.
“Since engaging the government on development matters, we have begun seeing progress such as new tarmac roads that were previously lacking,” Kajwang said, urging leaders to prioritise service delivery over political rivalry.
The event was attended by several senior officials, including Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, alongside other national and county leaders.
Leaders present maintained that sustained collaboration between Nyanza and the national government would accelerate infrastructure expansion, economic opportunities and service delivery, positioning the region as a key player in Kenya’s broader development agenda.
They emphasised that unity around development-focused partnerships would help improve livelihoods while strengthening ties between regional leadership and the national administration ahead of the 2027 polls.
