Trump has not provided a specific timeline for when the hostilities might end, but suggested that the United States could achieve its objectives relatively quickly. In an interview with Time magazine published late Thursday, the president said he believes the goals of the military campaign could be accomplished within four to five weeks, although he emphasized that there are no strict deadlines for the operation.
“I have no time limits on anything,” Trump said in the interview, adding that the priority is to ensure the mission is completed successfully.
The president also hinted at plans for Iran’s political future following the conflict. In his Truth Social post, Trump suggested that once a “great and acceptable leader” is selected for Iran, the United States and its allies would help rebuild the country’s economy.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump wrote. He concluded the message with the slogan “MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).”
Trump has also said he wants to be involved in discussions about who might lead Iran next, following the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. According to earlier reports, Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials were killed in a recent strike during the ongoing conflict.
The statements signal a significant escalation in rhetoric from Washington, suggesting that the administration is not merely seeking a ceasefire but a complete political transformation in Iran’s leadership.
